What is the climate like? Manaka is located approximately 150 miles north of the equator, so you can expect fairly constant daytime temperatures ranging between 85-95 degrees and high humidity. The fishing season coincides with the dry season , so it will be bright and sunny with only an occasional shower. Long pants, long sleeves shirts, sun block and drinking plenty of liquid while fishing is highly recommended. What are the accomodations like at Manaka? Manaka Lodge was built in 1987 by highly respected Venezuelan businessmen and
enthusiastic, well-traveled outdoorsmen. Their devotion to details and never ending
commitment to the gratification of their guests, have created an unbelievable oasis of
comfort that must be seen to be appreciated. You will be pleasantly surprised. Anglers
reside in churuatas (or bungalows) that are luxuriously designed to conform to the native
architecture of the Baniba and Piaroa indians. Each roomy churuata contains two twin beds
with overhead fans and private bath. There is also a separate large churuata with a dining room to enjoy great meals, and a living room area to relax and to tell those exciting fishing stories of the day.
